I kicked off my summer wedding season with Ciara and Shane at The Flying Horse in Montana’s beautiful Bitterroot Valley. It was a little windy and the air was still hanging on to that early spring chill, but the cloud cover enhanced the lovely lilac and sage details of this day, and Ciara and Shane didn’t seem to care too much about the weather. Remember their winter wonderland engagement session? These two are experts at being together while it’s cold outside 😉
The family heirlooms that they incorporated into their wedding was a favorite part of the day – family history has a special place in my heart! Ciara wore her grandmother’s veil, while Shane wore the tiepin that his grandmother gave his grandfather on their wedding day. The beams used to make their arch were milled at Ciara’s great-great-grandfather’s lumber mill before they were built into a cabin near the Bitterroot River, and then disassembled and returned back to the family all these years later. The star that hung above their head table at the reception has decorated the outside of Ciara’s parent’s home for years and years… long before they found out that it’s Shane’s family brand. Coincidence, or fate? 😉
Their ceremony overlooked a beautiful view of the Bitterroot Mountain Range, and was surrounded by nothing but happy energy and warmth, despite what the thermometer read! After they exchanged their vows, they joined their family and friends for an entertaining party full of laughter, joy, dancing, and fun. Another favorite moment of the day was when their friend auctioned off the garter for Shane instead of tossing it, such a fun spin on a traditional event!
Ciara and Shane – Thank you for letting me be a part of such a beautiful day as your photographer and your friend. I’m so excited to see where your love takes you in life! Congratulations!
